It certainly is an interesting dillema. On the one hand I want to protect those that I love. On the other hand I hate seeing my personal liberties being taken away. Prior to considering thoughts of marriage or one day having a family I probably would have said "Hell yeah; screw safety standards, I'm flying by the seat of my non-existant pants!"

I have a harder time saying that sort of thing now. Your example of your server is an intersting one. I'd like to offer an alternative example. When I first began driving I was given a very sedate, boring looking sedan to drive. When I drove that car I drove much faster than I should have. Thinking back, about doing 100 on the freeway in traffic; I feel really stupid. What I did was dangerous. Now, I drive a sporty little bright red sedan; needless to say I rarely drive faster than the posted speed limit. You see, your server didn't give anyone incentives to hack into it.

Hmmm... I'm not so sure this is making as much sense now as when it was in my head. Perhaps you will understand what I was getting at, perhaps you wont. Still, I agree with your point about our culture; its going to hell. cries of pedophile, terrorist and rapist frighten us to the point where social interaction is no longer something I believe we can safely approach. Instead, now we must be careful. Men particularly it seems. After all, men are more prone to rape and pedophilia; or so people would like us to believe.
